The trick for Apple is in determining what pro laptop features consist of in this era. Optical drives are on their way out and hard drives are increasingly giving way to solid state storage. At this point the MacBook Pro is essentially a thicker, heavier version of the Air with far more powerful hardware specs. But Apple must ask itself how many users will still gravitate toward the Pro based on a fractionally faster processor or chipset alone.
